Eye 10 Month Groups

Welcome to the list of Eye 10 Month Groups, part of our Circles strategy.
Below you will find a comprehensive list of every group at your location:

Jane & Jordan Marsh

When: Wednesdays, 7:30pm, every week

Where: Long Stratton, but then moving around people’s homes.

We are Jane and Jordan and live in Long Stratton, but with family in Eye and having been brought up there we have a great passion for the area. Jordan is very laid back and Jane likes to talk!  So if your up for a social group this is the group for you.

We shall meet at our house in Long Stratton, but can also meet at group members houses too if preferred. We will meet every Wednesday at 7:30-9:30pm and will have lots of cake, tea and social events as well!

In previous groups we have loved the relationships that we have built and the encouragement, honesty and prayer life that has grown from that.  Our group is open to all ages and backgrounds so we can challenge, learn and be encouraged from one another. We will use different resources and look at how the gospel can guide us in the modern world.

Mark & Paula Beaton

When: Wednesday 8 – 9:45pm, fortnightly
Where: Occold

Paula and Mark have been part of the Forge for 8 years moving to Forge Eye when it launched in 2017. Both serve on the Welcome Team at Eye, and Paula also looks after Next steps and Connecting.

Small groups have been a significant part of their daily lives over the past 25+ years and they’re looking forward to leading a new group in the vicinity of Eye .

This group aims to combine Bible study and prayer with social opportunities.  It also hopes to have a local and global community focus.  So whether you’re new to church and faith, looking to grow in your faith by meeting with others, have a pastoral heart, and /or are passionate about helping practically, as well as growing spiritually, this group is for you.

Jon & Julie Brooks

When: Wednesday 8pm, weekly during term time
Where: Yaxley

If you want to be known and to know others, grow in your faith, and move forwards with God, as you grow in relationship with others, then this is a great group for you. With a range of different resources to look at, from DVD series, to books, to bible study, this is a place where your learning will be encouraged and we will support each other through prayer. With this (and some fun, great coffee and snacks along the way) and people who you can do life with, this is a group where you can be you, whilst you explore and learn more about God. We also like to meet together to eat and also get together for family social time as well! We meet weekly on a Wednesday during term time and occasionally at weekends and in the holidays

Andrew Martindale

When: Thursday, 7:30 – 9:30pm, every week

Where: In homes around Eye

Our main focus is Bible Study. From September we are likely to look at Hebrews or Deuteronomy. We spend time at the start of each evening chatting together and make sure everyone has the opportunity to be prayed for if they feel the need. Relationships play an important role within the group. By caring and supporting one another you can be guaranteed a safe place to come and share your faith. We are not afraid to ask the hard questions and look for answers that build faith and deepen our trust in the Lord. We don’t tend to us bible notes or DVD’s and rely more on exploring the Bible together out of common knowledge and experience. Most people in the group are mid-forties or over. We share communion and from time to time a pub meal or light the BBQ. We look forward to welcoming you, if you think you’d like to join us.

Oliver & Rachel Westmancott – FULLY BOOKED

When: Thursdays, 8 – 10pm,
Where: Occold

We are Oliver and Rachel Westmancott. We have lived in Occold, just south of Eye for 12 years, and we love being involved in village community life there. We have four children ranging in age from 5 to 15 so we are kept busy with all their various activities and social lives. As a family we love being part of Forge Eye- adults, Kid’s Church and 242, and we’re excited to see what the Forge is going to do in Eye over the coming year.

Our fun and friendly 10 month group meets every week on a Thursday from 8pm-10pm at our house in Occold.

We spend time looking at what the Bible has to say about how to live out our faith in the real 21st Century world we find ourselves in. We alternate study/discussion evenings with fun socials (often involving food!) which helps us to grow strong trusting friendships where we can be open with each other, and so support each other in the challenges we face. We also spend time praying with and for each other, both when we meet and throughout the week.
