God at the Movies: Voyage of the Dawn Treader
The Forge goes to the movies again this summer. Movies have become our primary story telling medium in the UK, interpreting reality for us and acting as a kind of cultural glue.
Every movie has a message but what are those messages and how do they mix with the big message of God?
The latest movie in the series based on CS Lewis’s Narnia Chronicles is the most breathtaking yet. Our heroes are transported to the ocean of Narnia via an overflowing painting and are rescued by King Caspian and the crew of the ship The Dawn Treader. From there it’s one adventure after another. Why can’t real life be a little less predictable and a whole lot more adventurous?
On this bank holiday weekend will you take the voyage?
Lights… Camera… Action…
