Revolution
Sunday 17th April – Duncan Banks
Week Three – Revolution, and what does it look like?
Ever been to a foreign country? It can often seem that the further away from home to go the more uncomfortable you can become. (Different food, words, customs, etc)
Matt 6: 33 talks about a kingdom that can seem strange and far from home. But it is one we need to seek and search out.
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
This Kingdom was revolutionary because it was upside down. He said the first are really last, the greatest are not the kings but the servants. In God’s kingdom the poor are the ones who are blessed not the rich.
The Lords Prayer (Matthew 6: 9-13) is easy to say and to remember – even a child can do it. But it’s the prayer of a revolutionary. Do you really want God to answer this prayer in your life, house, church, and neighbourhood?
So what is this revolutionary kingdom that we are called to chase after?
1. It’s for now… not for later – Luke 17: 20-21
2. It’s very personal – John 3: 3
3. It’s highly contagious – Matthew 22: 2-3
