FAQs
1. What makes Forge Sundays so unique?
The Forge Community Church aims to create an irresistible, contemporary church experience on a Sunday that offers moments of wonder and clear next steps for everyone to follow. No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, you can grow in your understanding of Christianity at these services. In addition, The Forge has a large network of midweek small groups that are designed to develop friendships and spiritual growth.
2. What should I wear?
Casual clothes are the norm at The Forge. Jeans are more often than not, the order of the day. So feel free to leave the suit and tie at home!
3. How long does the service last?
The Sunday service at The Forge typically lasts about an hour.
4. What will the service be like?
On Sundays, drama, mixed media, contemporary music, and practical messages become the elements of your experience. There’s usually some participatory singing during the service, but the majority of the time is for you to experience and think through what you’re seeing and hearing. You can even see a service before you come! Services are streamed live at www.forgechurch.com/live, where you can also watch the previous service afterwards. Alternatively you can download or listen to the talks on the media page of the website.
5. Will I have to say anything, sign anything, give anything, or be singled out in any way?
At The Forge, you’ll never be put on the spot, singled-out, or embarrassed. As a visitor, you won’t be asked to participate in the offering. You don’t have to sign anything or register your attendance in any way.
6. What about my kids – do they come into the service with me or is there something going on for them?
Our ‘Forge Kids‘ children’s programme provides an exciting experience for infants, toddlers, kids and teens (all our kids and youth leaders are CRB checked). This allows both them and you to get the most from your Forge Church experience. Currently the children’s congregation starts at 9.30am & 11.30am and the youth congregation starts their programme at 9.30am. The Forge Crèche starts 10 minutes before the main services start. Our badged welcome team will greet you on arrival and be able to direct you and your children to the relevant areas.
7. What time does the service start?
Forge Sundays begin at 9.30am and 11.30am each week at the Debenham Leisure Complex (Sports Hall, Community Centre etc). A selection of teas, freshly ground coffee, soft drinks and snacks are served free after each service.
8. How do I get there?
The Debenham Leisure Centre is on Gracechurch Street and is well signed from the village centre.
