Finance Updates
July 2011:
Each month the Finance Team at the Forge look at the figures of what’s come in and what’s gone out; using those facts they then seek to share with staff, Elders & Trustees the story of what is happening within the Forge, in terms of its financial health.
The team asks itself questions like – Is income where we want it to be? Are costs being controlled? Are we carefully monitoring restricted income both in and then out again? The team knows that each set of numbers tells a story, the question is, what is the story telling us?
Once the team have grasped the story and shared it with the various leadership teams, the next group of people who need to know what’s going on is the congregation – the very people who make it all happen in the first place. Without each and every gift the Forge receives being used wisely and well, allowing the church to demonstrate and develop its Transforming Lives vision, we’d rightly be asked what is going on!
So, how do we share with you, the church, the story? The Finance Team have pondered this question over the last few weeks and what we propose to do over the next few months is share some of the church’s financial story. Topics like, how much does it cost to run this church; what do 242 & Kids spend their budget on; where does the money for mission get spent; how much has income grown in the last year; how do we help people in need – all these and much more will be covered. Equally, if there is a specific question you would like to ask then please get in touch: sheila@forgechurch.com will make sure your email hits my inbox.
