The Forge Journey

The Journey's End

People on journeys ask questions like: Where are we going?

The Forge journey has a simple yet clear destination. Simple enough to get on the front of a tee shirt. In fact it can be summed up in two words - transforming lives. As a generation we spend our lives working harder and longer but have we really found the secret to making life work? There is something in all us looking for change. It's why the self-help section of the library is always bulging with new titles.

At The Forge it's become our aim, our vision our dream - in fact our passion to walk with people through a journey of transformation. A journey to finding life in all its fullness.

The Journey Begins

People on journey's reminisce. They remember how it all began.

The Forge (then Mendlesham Christian Fellowship) journey began in 1992 in the Mendlesham Community Centre. About 24 people turned up that first Sunday but it wasn't long before the venue became too small. Two identical Sunday morning services became the solution giving more space to grow in to. However within the space of 3 years both these services were full, parking was impossible and there was no more room to grow.

In September 2005 the Church took the big step of moving 7 miles up the road to it's current home at the Debenham Leisure Complex - an environment with much more space to grow into. As we moved to a new location it seemed odd to be known as MCF so we gave ourselves a new name - The Forge Community Church.
