DEBENHAM SERVING OPPORTUNITIES
PEOPLE

The Base
What: Friday night’s are a time when we want to relax, hang out with friends, and have fun. We are passionate about creating an environment where young people can do just that; where they can know that they have value, identity and purpose. If you’re interested in creating an environment like this, building relationships with young people, no matter what age you are, then we’d love you to contact us.
When: Friday Evening (6:00pm – 10:00pm)

Kids Church
What: We want our kids to have as much fun as we do on Sundays. We want to create irresistible environments for every age group, places where they can have fun, build friendships, and grow in their understanding and relationship with God. Whether you’re interested in working with babies, toddlers, or school kids, we’d love to hear from you, as we have places available in our Tot Street ( 0 – 3), Little Village (3 – 5) and Uptown kids (5 – 11) teams.
When: Sunday morning (10.00am-12.00pm)

242 Sundays
What: 242 is our youth congregation; a place where 11-18 year olds can come, connect, have fun together as they explore what faith is, and how it relates to their lives. Run by a passionate dedicated team, whose heart is for young people, if you think that might be you, we’d love to hear from you.
When: Sunday morning (10.00am-12.00pm)

Care and Support
What: We’re here to provide care and support for people, what ever stage of life and circumstance you find yourself in. We’ll provide a listening ear, practical support, and help connect you with people or services if needed. But our main role is to meet with, visit, listen to someone’s story and pray with them.
When: We need people available at all times of the week, to meet with people when they need it.

Meet & Greet
What: We want people to feel at home as soon as they enter the car park at The Forge. That’s why we’d love you to greet people with a warm smile as they arrive on a Sunday (either in the car park or on entering the building), ensuring that each individual is valued. If you’re interested in joining our team, then we’d love to hear from you.
When: Sunday morning (10.00am-11.30pm)

Connectors
What: We want to make it as easy as possible for those outside the church to become part of our community. If you love chatting to people, and want to help welcome and connect in newcomers, we’d love to hear from you.
When: Sunday morning (10.00am-12.30pm)

ADMIN

Kids Check In
What: Each Sunday we create fantastic environments for children. We’d love you to oversee registration of each child as they arrive, ensuring their safety and wellbeing
When: 1-3 times a month. Sunday morning (10.00am-10.45pm)

HELPS

Furniture Bank
What: The furniture bank is an amazing way to impact the local community. We’d love you to search for and collect donated furniture, to add it to our store & to refurbish it (if necessary) before delivering to those in need.

Lunch Club
What: We love to create a caring, fun, environment for the older generation in Debenham.  A place where they can meet over a lovely meal, chat, catch up, and see friendly faces.  If you are free on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, and would like to be a part of creating such an environment, whether it’s cooking, helping with set up, pack down, washing up, conversation or even transport, then we’d love to hear from you.
When: 3rd Wednesday of each month

Breakfast
What: We are blown away by the dedication, enthusiasm, and love that our serving teams on a Sunday demonstrate, and so, for those who arrive on a Sunday so early that they miss breakfast, we want to provide them with some sustenance.  This team, helps to create the irresistible environment for our Sunday team meeting, and food for those that serve on the teams that make Sunday practically happen.
When: Sunday morning (8:30am-10.30pm)

Car Park
What: We love welcoming people to the Forge, and we want to do it as soon as they arrive.  If you love being outdoors, welcoming people, and helping them feel welcomed and at home, then this role is for you.
When: Sunday morning (10.15am-11am)

Hospitality
What: Each Sunday this team creates a warm & welcoming environment through the provision of refreshments. We’d love you to encourage community, remove barriers and grow friendships by providing tea and coffee
When: Sunday morning (10.15am-12.30pm)

Kids Pack Down
What: Each Sunday our kids congregation meet in the leisure centre next door to the Debenham Community Centre. We’d love you to help support our community by preparing the building for the week ahead by packing down our Sunday equipment, and helping store it away ready for use next week.
When: Sunday morning (10.30am-12.45pm)

CREATIVE

Music Team
What: Singing is an integral part of our Sunday Services. We’d love you to use your instrumental/vocal gifting to enable to the church to connect with God and with one another.
When: 1-3 times a month. Sunday morning (8.00am-12.00pm) & Rehearsal on Tuesday (7:00pm – 10:00pm)

TECHNICAL

PA Team
What: We want every individual, watching at home or in the building, to be able to connect and engage with what happens at The Forge on a Sunday. We’d love you to support the music and speaking teams, as well as the wider congregation, by setting up PA equipment, running soundchecks, and controlling the PA desk during the service.
When: Sunday mornings (7.30am-12.30pm)

Lighting
What: We want to create Sunday experiences that people love to attend.  And lighting is essential to creating the right atmosphere.  If you’re interested in controlling lighting, or think you might be, then please sign up for a taste and see for this team.
When: Sunday mornings (8am-12.00pm)

Visuals
What: We want to create Sunday experiences that people love to attend, and we use engaging presentations, images, videos and lighting to support this aim.  So if you think you can help us to set up visuals equipment, project the right images at the right times, to move from clip to slide, and back again, then we’d love you to sign up for a taste and see on this team.
When: Sunday mornings (8am-12.00pm)

Live Stream
What: We love that if you miss a Sunday, aren’t able to be with us in person, or haven’t yet managed to bridge the gap between your home and one of our locations, you can very much be a part of who we are and what we do, no matter where you are in the world.  Being part of this team is about making sure that happens.  You’d be involved in setting up and running the cameras and equipment so that what we experience at Debenham on a Sunday can be experienced live online.
When: Sunday mornings (8am-12.00pm)

Uptown Kids
What: Our congregation for those in Years 1-6 is full of games, singing, and often something creative too. We’d love you to lead a small group of up to 10 children, helping them to engage with the theme that week, as well as providing an exciting Sunday experience.
When: Sunday afternoon (3.30pm-5.15pm)

Welcome
What: We want people to feel at home as soon as they enter the car park at The Forge. That’s why we’d love you to greet people with a warm smile as they arrive on a Sunday (either in the car park or on entering the building), ensuring that each individual is valued.

What: Keeping people safe and ensuring that we have trained individuals on site that can react well to emergency situations is highly important. If this is an area you can assist with, we’d love to train you up.

CREATIVE

Social Media Team
What: We want to connect, to share our message with the wider world, to continue the conversation beyond Sundays. We’d love you to help build community and connection with God throughout the week, through the use of various Social Media platforms.

 

Photography/Videography Team
What: We want to create a team that helps to capture everything that goes on at Forge Thurston, from Sunday services, to mid-week groups and .
When: As often as you are available. Sunday afternoon (2.00pm-6.00pm) and possibly some evenings/mid-week events.

 

Music Team
